forest lake race - race info

Our next race at Forest Lake,Mn is a go! The weather forecast is calling for some rain but, I am hopeful it will not impact our race. They are calling for cooler temps for the weekend. Again thanks to everyone for an awesome race at Spooner!

  • Parking - We will be able to park on the ice (14"+ of ice) as we did last year. The race track will be just north of the boat landing (same location as last year). When you drive onto the ice, go to the north and pull your vehicle's up as close to shore as possible (your vehicle will be facing west). Please leave 8ft between trailers. If you are not comfortable with parking on the ice you can park at the boat landing parking lot.
  • Vintage Kitty Cat - The part numbers confirming that Artic Cat has superseded the Kawasaki carburetor to the Suzuki carburetor have been filed with ISR. Either carburetor is good for Vintage Kitty Cat racing. Thanks to those of you that dug in to find this documentation!
  • Eagle River - WKSRA has sent out there letter regarding Eagle River, click on the highlighted Eagle River to view, all the information for the race and registering is there.

Keep thinking cold and ice!

Spooner, Wi - race info:

We are all set for our second race in Spooner, WI at Big McKenzie Lake! Ice depths are in the 11" range. There will not be a shaved track. The race track will be built out in front of McKenzie Landing as it was last year. The track will be made Saturday morning.

  • Parking - Please park in the McKenzie Landing parking lot (as we did last year).Try to park as close together as possible to allow room for everyone.
  • Four wheeler - If you have a four wheeler and skid please bring it, as we will need to ferry sleds and equipment to the race track. Also if anyone has a wheeler with a plow we could use another for track plowing.
  • Helmets - You need to have 75% orange on the back of your racers helmet (this is a ISR requirement). We have orange duct tape if needed.

Thanks, see you on Saturday!

turtle lake - update #2

The ice thickness on Turtle Lake is in the 8" plus range as of today. The ice surface will have some rough spots but, overall looks good. This all means we will be racing on Saturday! The awards will be held at Spare Time Bowl in Turtle Lake.

  • Series Tracker - There was a glitch in the system this afternoon. Series Tracker is up and running again. Please remember to register by 11:00pm tonight.
  • Parking - Again we will need to park at the boat landing (no parking on the lake). Last year we parked east to west, which worked well.
  • Briggs Pro 206 - The Briggs 206 classes are a specialty class this year (bold print in the ISR yearbook). This means only Briggs 206 race sleds can race against each other and that they must stay within there class for this year.
  • Updated Race Order - The race order has been changed. The reason for the change is to allow members running multiple classes in the afternoon with the same sleds some more time for gear changes. This is really hard to make everyone happy, we will try the new race order and see how it works.

2012 - 2013 Race Order:

  • Improved Stock 120
  • Vintage - Kitty Cat
  • Amateur - Stock Kitty Cat
  • Super Stock 120
  • Champ 120
  • BREAK
  • Briggs Pro 206
  • F1
  • Stock Kitty Cat
  • Amateur Stock 120
  • Pro Stock
  • Improved Stock Kitty
  • Stock 120

See you on Saturday!
